On the 30th of October, Sebastian Breß successfully earned his PhD for his research on “Efficient Query Processing in Co-Processor-accelerated Databases” inside CoGaDB. Among all his friends and CoGaDB collaborators, he held a great PhD defense presentation and passed his PhD with “Summa Cum Laude” — the best grade possible in Germany.

As an ancient practice after the practice, Sebastian had to ride a wooden horse to the Otto-von-Guericke memorial and celebrate his PhD there:

At the memorial, Gunter Saake read out an eulogy on him, which is attached:

All his friends and colleagues congratulate him and wish him all the best for the future!
